Marketing Survey

Many thanks (in advance) to everyone taking part in the Gemini on-line marketing survey.

This isn’t a run of the mill, tick box exercise on how good things are (or aren’t), this really is about you the customer telling us how you see things.

Your feedback will help model the look and shape of Gemini.

By telling us stuff, we will be much better placed to serve you better.

The survey carries an incentive and one lucky winner will receive vouchers to spend on-line.

The draw will take place w/c November 15th, with the winner announced here, on Twitter and the main web site in December.

Entries received after October 31st will not be valid.

The winner will be selected at random.

Click here to view the survey.

All newsletter subscribes will automatically receive a survey, so if you haven’t already, why not subscribe to our regular newsletter.

Good luck to all entrants and many thanks (in advance) for your time and help in making this survey happen.

Best wishes as always.

Gemini on YouTube

As my career on the silver screen never really took off (well, it never actually started in all honesty) the prospect of doing something even if it was massively (and I mean massively) scaled down, was quite exciting.

Having attended a recent marketing seminar, we decided to have a look at the many ways of video marketing on YouTube. The theory looked cool on paper, so research started in earnest. First, we looked at the videos currently being posted on YouTube by translation service providers.

Well, they seem to fall into two camps: ‘good’ and ‘not so good’. There does appear to be a common theme running through both sets of YouTube posts and that was preparation and clarity of message. Depending on which camp you look at meant they either had it or they didn’t. Also one final thing we noticed, was ‘application’ – mainly a lack of.

By application, I mean how all this is going to help the customer. All of them make the assumption the customer knows exactly what they want so just ‘window dressing’ will lure the customer in (ok, all of this may apply to just the ones we sampled).

Regardless of industry, customers are better informed and so showcasing how your products or services help your customers achieve their goal and the real value the service provider brings is the logical and quite frankly, the obvious way to go.

So here’s what we are going to do. We will operate a structured approach, starting with ‘who we are and what we do’. Then, we will produce ‘application specific’ clips showing how translation works for you in a set area using technology or project management skills, etc. The latter will then form the basis for future productions as new services come on-line.

We will use our Twitter platform to make forthcoming announcements. So, if you haven’t taken a look, please do and sign up. That way you can keep in touch with all the latest goings on.

Production hasn’t even been scheduled yet but we are discussing storyboards and time scales for our YouTube videos. Further announcements will follow as we continue to engage much better on all levels with customers, suppliers, staff and associates.

So not quite the silver screen but it’s still going to be a lot of fun doing it!
